Do you remember the old indemnity plans that were sold for a low cost? Remember how they didn’t really give you any protection when you really needed it? Well… this is not that!!
We have some great plans available ~ but they are not a replacement for good old major medical. However they do offer a lower cost alternative for some folks.
They have definite appeal for consumers that:
May not qualify for full comprehensive major medical due to pre-existing conditions or for consumers that simply cannot afford full comprehensive major medical.
They are guaranteed issue ~ no underwriting and offer discount association coverage along with limited medical coverage. The plans provide coverage for the common everyday expenses such as doctor office visits, hospital, ICU and surgical expenses. Some even partially cover counseling appointments. Co-pays range from $20.00 for in network Doctors to $40.00 for out of network.
They include term life and critical illness coverage. Association discounts apply to vision, dental, chiropractic and prescriptions.
I always suggest comprehensive major medical first, typically with accident & critical illness coverage added. However there is a growing population of individuals that simply do not qualify or cannot pay the high fees for this type of coverage. For this particular group of consumers I am pleased to be able to offer mini-med coverage.
